A Library is a repository of wisdom of great thinkers of the past and present. It makes it available to the readers in the shape of books. A well equipped and well managed library is the foundation of modern educational structure.

Libraries are collection of books, manuscripts, journals, and other sources of recorded information. They commonly include reference works, such as encyclopedia that provide factual information and indexes that help users find information in other sources; creative works, including poetry, novels, short stories, and photographs; nonfiction, such as biographies, histories and other factual reports; and periodical publications, including magazines, scholarly journals etc. At home use of records, CD-ROMs, and audiotapes and videotapes has increased, library collections have begun to include these and other forms of media too. Rapid developments in computers, telecommunications, and other technologies have made it possible to store and retrieve information in many different forms and from any place with a computer and a telephone connection. As a result the terms digital libraries can be defined as electronic libraries in which large numbers of geographically distributed users can access the contents of large and diverse repositories of electronic objects.

Libraries are generally divided into following types:

1. National Libraries.

2. Academic Libraries. ( School, college and University)

3. Public Libraries.

4. Special Libraries.

Our Library:-

Our Library is a part and parcel of school setup. It exists to serve the objectives of its parent organization. It plays a very important role in helping the educational system to achieve its goals.

Services:-

The Library provides following services:

1. Display of materials and information;

2. Orientation classes to the students in beginning of new session;

3. Circulation of documents to students and teachers through card system;

4. Assistance in the searching and location of materials;

5. Assistance in the use of reference books etc.;

6. Provision of reading electronic book;

7. Provision of information on request.

Activities:-

To create reading habbit amongst students activities like story hour and quiz competitions are organized in the library. To create interest in reading newspaper, sometimes students are taught, how to collect information and articles from newspapers for preparing clippings titles.

Library Rules:-

1. Students, teachers and all bonafied members of this school can become the members of this library.

2. Books are issued to students for seven days and to teachers for fifteen days.

3. Reference books and periodical publications are not issued to readers.

4. In case of loss of a book by reader, the same title should be replaced or cost of the book should be paid by the reader.
