Varshik Krida Samaroh 2016

On 28 December, the Udghatan Samaroh (Inauguration Programme) of Varshik Krida Samaroh (Annual Sports Meet) of the Vidyalaya was observed. Brigadier Sujit Singh Maini, Commander, 181 Mountain Bridge, was the Chief Guest for the Programme. Events like 100 Mtr race, Long and high jump, Yoga, Display by Primary Kids, Kathak Nritya, March Past, Guard of Honour and  many other indoor and outdoor games were played among the students from 28 to 31 December 2016. more than 2000 people were present in the programme.

We are in high spirit to let all concern know that Our Vidyalaya has secured two prestigious awards in 5th Srimanta Sankardev Natya Samaroh 2016. We received 2nd BEST DRAMA and 2nd BEST ACTRESS Award for our Assamese Drama titled "Swapone Dithake". Km. Prasansa Dutta won the 2nd Best Actress Award. The Drama festival was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Bibhag, Guwahati in the Venue VKV Nalbari from 11 to 14 November 2016, where a total of 19 Vidyalaya took part from different districts of  Assam.

Sadhana Divas 2016

19 November is celebrated as Sadhana Divas every year to remember the teachings and philosophy of  Mananeeya EknathJi Ranade, the Founder of Vivekananda Kendra. In our vidyalaya, Akhanda Ram Charit Manas Path is been conducted on this very day from 18 Nov morning to 19 Nov morning. This year too the day is observed with Puja, Yagna and path.

Student's Achievement in Debate

Miss Nayanika Deb, Class XI-Science has placed herself as the First Runners Up (2nd Position) in the District Level Debate Competition organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, (ICAI) Tinsukia Chapter on 23rd October 2016. A total of 36 members were participated. 

The topic called for was “Peer pressure is harmful to students”.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Tinsukia
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Tinsukia, the oldest Vidyalaya run by VKSPV,  has a beautiful campus and provides all the facilities for allround development of the students. The Vidyalaya land then measuring 31 Bighas was purchased from Sri Ramnivas Rasiwasia. Sri Eknathji was present for the Bhoomi pujan and Hawan ceremony held on 18 August, 1976 (Rakshabandhan Day). The first donation of Rs 1 lac came from M/S Bansidhar Badridas of Dibrugarh. The other donors were Sri R.C. Lohia of M/S Merinoply and Sajjan Bhajanka of Tinsukia. The first batch of Class X appeared for AISSE in 1990 while the first Class XII batch took AISSCE in 1996.
Unique Features and Best Practices
Akhand Ram Charit Manas Path, i.e. a recitation from the Ramayan, is held from 18th to 19th November every year to commemorate the Sadhana Divas.
Mini Marathon is held in the early hours of January 12 every year to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
• A range of Soft Subjects viz. Sattriya, Kathak, Tabla, Karate, Indian Classical (Vocal) Guitar, Mandolin, Art & Craft, is available to the students to choose from.
Science Club, Information Technology Club etc. are run by students. Soft Subject Teachers’ Training is also held periodically for other schools.
• The teachers of English, Mathematics, Social Science and Hindi have Subject Council Meetings once a month and discuss ways and means to improve upon the methods of teaching.
• Through the SMS System parents and guardians are informed on urgent matters.
Swadhaya (Study Circle) sessions are held for the teachers of Primary and Secondary Sections once a week. The teachers within their first 3 years of service and those within 3 to 7 years of service sit separately for these sessions.
Anandalaya, Samskar Varga, Youth Camps, Personality Development Camps, Women Awareness Camps, various cultural competitions are part of regular Vidyalaya activities.
Remarkable Achievements
• Kumar Rachit Chandra (Class-VIII, 2001-02) and Sardar Prakash Singh (Class-XII, 2009-10) are the awardees of Aditya Birla Scholarship. The awardees are selected by a distinguished panel of judges.
• Sri Abhimanyu Das, Class-XI (2010-11) is the winner of the National Children Science Congress.
• Students of the Vidyalaya have secured admissions into prestigious educational institutes viz. Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Management, Sriram College of Commerce, New Delhi, St. Stephens College, Delhi, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad and so on.

IT Workshop at VKV Dibrugarh

Three teachers from the Vidyalaya attended a two-day long IT workshop organizsed in VKV Dibrugarh from 18th Sept to 20th Sept 2016. 30 teachers from different VKVs of Assam and Nagaland attended the workshop on development of Vidyalaya's website, video conferencing and lab maintenance. Sri Hardik Mehta was the resource person for the workshop.
