help a child to grow with reasoning and intellect. To foster the growth of
Mathematical ability in students Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag
organises Ganit prajna samvardhan & Ganit Prajna Pariksha every year for
the VKVs of Assam and Nagaland. This year a Workshop and visit to department of
physics and library was undertaken by VKSPV at IIT Guwahati campus on 23and 24
Aug 2019. In this academic programme many Sessions were taken by different
professors of IIT. On concluding day, felicitation of toppers of VKVs was done.
From our Vidyalaya students from Class VI, Pratyush, Anshuman, Ritupan, from Class
VII, Nilachal, Astha, Sudipta, from Class VIII Rishabh, Arijit were felicitated. Teacher
escort was Sushanta Banik. Chief Guests for the programme were Dr. Saurav Basu,
Dean, Dept. of Physics, IIT, Professor Gopal Hazarika & Suhasini Gogoi.

On 24 August, Sri Krishna Janamastami
was celebrated in our Vidyalaya by the Primary and secondary students. KG
Children perform Sri Krishna’s Bal-leela through Dance, Drama and Bhajan. Jhula
was prepared and Puja was performed in Yoga-Vidya Sabhagriha. The exciting
Matka-breaking competition for Primary and secondary students was organized at
outdoor where the complete school took part. Prasad was distributed at the end.

On 15 August 2019, The 73rd independence day is celebrated by our Vidyalaya enthusiastically in a grand manner. At morning 7:30 the tricolour flag was hoisted by the principal in the presence of Kendra elders , teachers and 300 students. One of the significant Indian festival Raksha Bandhan was also celebrated the same day. To commemorate the day, a series of events was organized. Three groups of teachers and students visited three village schools of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh district namely Bambari Prathomik Vidyalaya in Govindpur, Morankari Vidyalaya and Padumini Praathamik Vidyalaya. In those places clothes, food were distributed and Raksha Sutras were tied to the villagers and students. At school , a cultural programme with teachers and students was organised. In the evening , hostler, band team and many other students were taken to Rangghar Cinema for the viewing of the movie, "Mission Mangal". It was a Independence Day offer by the owner Bibek Sharma, one of the ex-student of the Vidyalaya . Teacher Bhagyashree spoke about the importance of the day in the Vidyalaya. A small programme with song, chanting and speech was also arranged in the Village schools.

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari elders are at Delhi handing over rupees 1 crore to Sri Rajnath Singh Honorable Defense Minister which Kendra received as Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2015.
