SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP & DEVELOPMENT Program

A Sensitization Workshop and Development Program was organized by CSIR (CMERI) Durgapur, an organization for the development of Scientific inputs to the society, for the Students of our Vidyalaya on February 29, 2020, in vidyalaya’s Yoga-Vidya Sabhagriha. The program was started at 9.30 am and ends on 1.15 pm. It was based on three (3) themes, viz., - Environment
- Renewable Energy
- Water Purification
Resource persons of the program were Dr Sarita Ghosh and Shubo Samanta, both members of CSIR, Durgapur. Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institution had developed some plants for the management of waste of solid and other nature. Using interactive sessions and presentation with videographies they explained the project and its usefulness.
An effective session by Smt. Ghosh was conducted on water and its purification process. In the state of West Bengal some rural areas were adopted to set up such water filters in public that helped to reduce the arsenic effect and other harmful elements of water. However, about setting such plants in a campus like ours need financial buttress and the required technological support will be provided by them, they assured.
A total of 200 students from Class VII, VIII and IX took active participation with 15 teachers in the workshop. Though it was an effective program, there was a need for some activity based assignment and work so that students would feel more engaged in a program of four hours duration.
A folder with writing pad, pen, feedback form etc with Packet lunch was provided by the organization at the end of the program.
