Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tinsukia observed Asom Diwas with respect and enthusiasm to commemorate the legacy of Chaolung Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom dynasty and the architect of a united Assam.
In Primary classes the programme began with anchoring by Shrestha Khanikar of Class 3, followed by a peaceful Mangalacharan, creating a devotional atmosphere. Students of Class 3 then presented a patriotic song honouring the contributions of Sukapha. This was followed by a poem recitation by Class 3 students, expressing unity, culture, and pride in Assam’s rich heritage.
A documentary video highlighting the life and achievements of Chaolung Sukapha was shown, after which Rinku Moni Didi conducted an interactive quiz for Classes 3, 4, and 5, encouraging participation and enhancing their knowledge of Assam’s rich heritage.
The secondary and senior secondary sections also observed Asom Diwas with sincerity. The event began with Mangalacharan, followed by an informative speech by Sabita Didi on the advent and rule of Chaolung Sukapha . A video presentation further illustrated his journey and contributions. The programme then continued with a speech by the Principal, Ravi Savdeykar Sir, who shared insightful thoughts on the significance of Asom Diwas. The celebration ended with Shanti Path.
Both the sections observed Asom Diwas with devotion, cultural pride, and respect, reflecting on the remarkable legacy of Chaolung Sukapha and his role in shaping the unity and identity of Assam.
