SWAMI VIVEKANANDA JAYANTI 2026

The school observed Swami Vivekananda Jayanti with deep reverence, enthusiasm, and a spirit of inspiration through a series of well-planned programmes conducted on 11th and 12th January. The celebration aimed to inculcate the ideals of Swami Vivekananda—character building, self-confidence, discipline, service, and cultural awareness—among students through speeches, prize distribution ceremonies, inspiring dramas, and rich cultural presentations.

Programme on 11th January (Morning Session)

The morning session of 11th January began in a calm and disciplined atmosphere. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Principal of VKV Tinsukia, who highlighted the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in modern education.

The session was graced by Purnendu Das Sir and Pranati Didi. Purnendu Das Sir delivered an inspiring speech, motivating students to develop inner strength, confidence, and dedication to society.

A major highlight of the morning was the presentation of the inspiring dramaGhora Khonkho Bodh. Before the performance, a brief introduction and description of the drama was presented, explaining its theme and message. The drama beautifully depicted the journey of self-awakening, courage, discipline, and moral strength, closely aligned with the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The performance left a deep impact on the audience.

As per the agenda, the programme also included cultural events such as prayers, inspirational songs, recitations, and group cultural presentations by students.

A Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Secondary Section was conducted during this session, during which awards for Best Student, Best Sports Boy, and Best Sports Girl (Secondary Section) were presented to deserving students.

Programme on 11th January (Evening / Second Half Session)

The second half of 11th January began with a welcome speech by Pranati Didi, emphasizing value-based education and holistic development.

The evening programme was honoured by the presence of Sujit Roy and Ram Gopal Agarwal. The session featured vibrant cultural performances including patriotic and devotional songs, dances, skits, and group presentations by Primary students.

During this session, a Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Primary Section was held. Awards were presented for Best Student, Best Sports Boy, and Best Sports Girl (Primary Section). The guests congratulated the young achievers and encouraged them to grow with discipline and confidence.

Programme on 12th January (Evening Session) – Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

The main celebration on 12th January, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, was observed with great devotion and large-scale participation. The programme was graced by Nivedita Baruah.

The morning session once again featured the inspiring drama Ghora konkho bodh. Prior to the performance, a short description of the drama was presented, helping the audience understand its core message of inner strength, determination, and service to humanity. The repeat presentation ensured that a wider audience could experience and reflect upon its powerful message.

On this day, Neil Sir and Jita Didi delivered inspiring speeches, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s vision for youth empowerment, self-discipline, and national service. Nivedita Baidyo delivered a thoughtful speech emphasizing the importance of culture and cultural activities in preserving values and nurturing well-rounded personalities.

A significant highlight of the programme was the presentation of the Daikhya Prasad Lahkar Trophy. The running trophy was awarded to a Class VII student, Shreyoshi Das, who secured an outstanding 98.41%. The trophy was graciously presented by Sanjita Lahkar, acknowledging the student’s exceptional academic achievement.

As per the agenda, a Pushpanjali programme was conducted at more than 100 places, where students, teachers, and community members offered floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda.

Another major highlight was the Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by students, effectively portraying Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on self-belief, unity, service, and national awakening. Devotional songs and collective cultural presentations further enriched the programme.


The Swami Vivekananda Jayanti celebration was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, guests, and the community. The blend of speeches, prize distribution ceremonies, inspiring dramas , cultural programmes, Pushpanjali activities,and Nukkad Natak, made the celebration meaningful and impactful. The programme strongly reinforced the timeless ideals of Swami Vivekananda and motivated students to strive for academic excellence, cultural awareness, physical fitness, and moral integrity.
